NEW CHALLENGE: Faith, Food & Fitness Kicks Off July 16th!

FAITH

Dedication, Discipline, Deligience
Glutes and godliness, say what? What’s faith got to do with it? At first faith and fitness may seem like an awkward pairing but the idea isn’t a new one. Scriptures like 1 Corinthians 6:19 tells us that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, and Romans 12:1 urges us to offer our bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God and that it is a way of true worship. As vessels, these bodies are on loan and it’s up to us to keep them in tip-top condition.

Throughout the next six weeks, we are going to explore worship and working out, a way of moving the body to move the soul.

There is, of course, nothing wrong with exercising and eating healthy to simply to look and to feel better. But for many, connecting healthy choices to spiritual values may provide both the meaning and the motivation required to make those changes stick. One thing that both faith and fitness have in common is that discipline is required. So, in trying to grow in both faith and fitness, our goal is to seek to consistently operate in a way that will develop the right habits over time creating a lifestyle.

During the next 6 weeks, I challenge you to:
  • Keep a journal of the process, daily scriptures, and weekly affirmations.
  • Speak positive words to yourself and others.
  • Take time to pray/meditate daily.
  • Daily share a photo/video that best represents the weekly affirmation to you.
